The Navajo Family Assistance Services (NFAS) provides financial assistance for eligible school age Navajo children to purchase clothing and supplies, of their choice, in an effort to promote school attendance, encourage academic performance, and support self-confidence.
In a prior release, the NFAS office announced that they will accept applications for Navajo School Clothing and Supplies (NSCS) for School Year 2021-2022, beginning Monday, October 4, 2021.
The NFAS office would like to announce that a recent budget modification will allow for the NFAS office to accept applications for Navajo School Clothing and Supplies sooner. Applications will be available on Friday, August 27, 2021.

Before you begin filling out the application, gather the required documents and be prepared to upload an electronic copy of those documents. The applicant must attach the following required documents before submitting the application.
- The child’s Certificate of Indian Blood;
- The child’s valid social security card;
- A document on official school letterhead verifying the child is enrolled for the current academic year, or appropriate documentation verifying the child is home schooled or virtual learning.
- Completed W-9 Form that is signed by the Parent/Guardian/Caretaker.
